It's funny that only a few days ago I wrote about not feeling any movement from the baby. Well, now I feel her move almost every day! I think now that I can recognize what it feels like, I notice it more. Last night she was moving quite a bit when I was laying down for bed and trying to sleep. She is still pretty small, so the movements are slight, but I wonder what it will be like when she's huge and keeping me awake at night with her dance moves? Hmmmm.... :)
We were at the grocery store yesterday and on the aisle that has random things like toys and holiday items there was this little baby doll that was about 10 inches long. I looked at that and thought, "that is the size that Hadley is now". It was a little crazy. I almost bought the doll just to have a visual representation but Thom reminded me that she is growing everyday and won't be that size for long. Still surreal to see that though.
I am going to lunch with Amy today; we are going to try out that Brix restaurant that I've been wanting to try. Yay for new friends and new places to go! Maybe Hadley will like it too and I can feel her move around some more. :)

A first time for everything, but now I feel kinda bad.
Well, I think I finally felt the baby move today! But...not without a little prodding...literally. I hadn't felt the baby move at all, and the ultrasound tech said that it was totally normal, and she was moving around a lot, but I may not feel it for a little while (the average time to feel fetal movement is 18 weeks along...I am at 21 weeks). Well, Thom and I had this bright idea for me to eat something sweet, and then lie down and poke around to see if I could feel any movement. I drank my hot chocolate for breakfast, and then laid down and waited. Nothing. So then I decided to feel around, and poke my belly a little and see if I felt anything. Sure enough, after I had mashed around, I felt a little "bump"beneath the surface. Which was probably the baby, trying to move away from my fingers mashing down on her. I was happy for a minute, but then I felt bad. I wouldn't like it if someone was mashing their big hands down on me while I was trying to sleep! Thom was sure that it was fine, and that she wasn't hurt at all by it since she's all cushioned. And, it's true that the ultrasound tech always presses all around to get her to move on the screen. But..I still felt bad. And I've resigned that I will be patient and just feel the movement when the time comes. No more making my baby try to escape my pokes in order to feel a little kick out of the deal!

Yep, There's a Baby In There!
Well, we couldn't resist. We went to Ultraview and got another ultrasound done. The last one I had was about 5 weeks ago, and the one at the doctor's office two weeks ago was really short and we couldn't see much, so....we wanted to see our little girl again!
I can't believe how much she has grown since we were there last. She has almost doubled in size and is extremely active. In fact, it was hard to see what was going on in some parts of the ultrasound because she was turning and moving all around. Thom says he hopes this isn't a sign of what's to come after she's born (a hyperactive child) LOL. I don't care, I'm just glad she appears to be happy and active and enjoying life inside her little home.
The first photos are of the traditional 2D ultrasound, the next ones were taken in 3D (the yellow ones). Typically they don't recommend doing the 3D view until around 28 weeks and beyond, so you can get the best, clearest image, but we got some decent shots at 21 weeks yesterday. You can bet that we will be back for the 3D later on (and maybe even before that if Thom can't hold out any longer :) )
By the way, she weighs about a pound now. She is so sweet!

Almost at 20 weeks....aka halfway there! WOOHOO
Photos taken at our latest Ultrasound at the Doctor's office on April 7. Our appointment was scheduled for next Tuesday, the 12th, but since I had to go to the doctor on the 7th, they did the Ultrasound earlier. So....it's not quite 20 weeks yet, but it will be next week. So that means I'm almost at 20 weeks (which is halfway) and that's good enough for me!!
You can really see her profile in these photos. So adorable!

Hadley's First Photo Shoot! aka The First Ultrasound Photos
These photos were taken at our first Ultrasound at the Doctor's office on February 16 (at about 12 weeks along) and then the second images were taken at the UltraView office (a place that offers Ultrasounds outside of the Doctor's office) on March 19 (at about 16 weeks along). At this appointment, we found out we were having a GIRL! We were soooo excited!

There's no one who can really tell you what to expect when you're expecting.
I have been told many things, all over the board in fact, about what the pregnancy "should" be like and "would" be like. I'm finding more and more that I just have to go my own way and do the best that I can. I think each person is different and each pregnancy is different. For example, I am still amazed at the dramatic changes I have had in appetite and preferences. Everything I loved before I was pregnant I now feel indifferent about or don't care for. And things that I never really cared for before, like hot dogs and ham and cheese sandwiches sound awesome. I think I have ate more meat during this pregnancy than I have in my entire life up to this point combined. I would be lying to you if I didn't admit that as I am writing this I am eating chicken nuggets from Mcdonalds. I really didn't think that I was having any cravings because I haven't woken up at 2am and wanted any "gas station nachos" (mom) or anything, but upon reflection, there have been several things that I want almost all the time. These include, (but are definitely not limited to):
1. Chicken Sandwiches (grilled, with mustard)
2. Chicken Nuggets and French Fries (but they have to be Mcdonalds brand)
3. Hot Dogs and/or Corn Dogs from Sonic (again, with mustard)
4. Ham and Egg Breakfast Sandwich from Starbucks (I can't get the coffee there anymore, but the sandwiches are to die).
I actually took a huge step forward and tried a bite of Thommy's hamburger the other day from Smashburger. I thought, hey, everything else is topsy-turvy, maybe I'll love burgers now! But alas, it tasted weird and "soft" to me if that makes sense. I'm used to the texture of chicken I guess. *sigh of relief*
I guess some things don't change, even with pregnancy (although pretty much everything else does).
